Guldborgsund Kommune is looking for a passionate and skilled Backend Software Engineer to join Guldborgsund Kommune's growing team. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining Guldborgsund Kommune's core backend services and APIs that power Guldborgsund Kommune's exciting product.
About the Role
As a Backend Software Engineer, you will work on critical infrastructure, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance. You'll collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend services using Python and Go.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and system design.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Go. Experience with both is a plus.
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Experience with real-time data processing (e.g., Kafka).
